WW2 Models Display to Commentate D-Day
A stunning collection of 30 WW2 models and dioramas will be on display from Friday 24 May until June 8 to commentate D-Day at Bourne Hall Museum
Robert Kenning, aged 88, began model making after his son was trying to build a model boat, but gave up on it, so he took over. This was back in the 70’s.
His neighbour worked for Airfix so he would give him some model kits of British birds and kings and queens to make. He then began running the model-making badge for the 1st West Ewell Scouts and it was while the boys were making their models he started making his war dioramas.
He would also enter his models in a model-making competition at his workplace (BT) and was lucky enough to pick up many 1st prize awards.
This collection of 30 models shows in detail scenes from World War 2. The models are on display for a limited time.
