Join our Team as a Learning & Engagement Manager at Brooklands Museum!
Are you a creative and collaborative leader with a passion for heritage education, STEM engagement and inspiring the next generation? Brooklands Museum is looking for a Learning & Engagement Manager to lead our dynamic team in delivering high-quality, curriculum-linked learning experiences and growing our schools and community engagement programmes.
Location: Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey
Hours: Permanent, full-time – 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per annum
Reports to: Head of Collections & Audience Engagement
What You’ll Do
As the leader of our Learning & Engagement team, you’ll shape and deliver inspiring educational programmes that connect Brooklands’ rich heritage with future possibilities. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading, developing and evaluating all schools and formal learning programmes to meet curriculum requirements and visitor targets.
Shaping and growing the Brooklands Innovation Academy as a flagship STEM programme that inspires future innovators and changemakers.
Overseeing community, family and holiday engagement activities that make heritage accessible and engaging for diverse audiences.
Managing, supporting and developing the Learning & Engagement team to deliver high-quality, inclusive experiences.
Overseeing programme budgets, setting and monitoring targets, and identifying opportunities for growth and development.
Building strong relationships with schools, community groups and educational partners across the region.
Championing inclusive, accessible learning that reflects the diversity of our audiences and tells the Brooklands story in dynamic, engaging ways.
Evaluating programme impact and using insights to continuously improve learning experiences.
Supporting cross-museum collaboration with Events, Marketing, Operations and Hospitality teams to deliver joined-up visitor experiences.
Who You Are
You’ll be an experienced and passionate education professional with:
Experience in museum, heritage or education-based learning programme development and delivery.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate and develop a team.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with confidence engaging schools, community groups and partners.
Proven experience in curriculum-linked programme development, particularly in STEM subjects.
A highly organised, creative and solutions-focused approach to project and budget management.
A commitment to delivering inclusive, accessible and high-quality learning experiences for all audiences.
The ability to evaluate programmes and use data to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact.
