Major Improvements to Lower Road Car Park in Bookham Are Now Completed
The Lower Road Bookham car park, managed by Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) has received a much-needed facelift. The improvement project, which commenced on 19 October is now completed and provides a series of enhancements to this essential community facility. The refurbishment included various elements such as drainage works, bike rack and barrier repairs, kerb upgrades, landscaping, resurfacing, and re-lining, all aimed at making the car park better laid out, and more appealing for users.
This project is part of MVDC’s commitment to improving the parking infrastructure in Mole Valley, ensuring that it remains a convenient and attractive place for all who live, shop, work here or visit our district. The refurbishment has not only enhanced the functionality of the car park but also contributed to the overall aesthetic appeal of Bookham village centre.
Councillor Clayton Wellman, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Economy said: “I’m pleased to see that the improvement works to the Lower Road car park in Bookham are now completed. The refurbishment reflects our commitment to creating a better, more accessible environment for the residents of Bookham and its visitors. We understand that the construction period may have caused some inconvenience, and I would like to thank our residents, visitors, workers and local businesses for their patience and cooperation. Lower Road Bookham is our final car park under the major £2.2m refurbishment programme of car parks in Mole Valley that we have been undertaking in the past few years. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re already actively exploring plans for further improvements to parking facilities.”
