Epsom RDA provides disabled people with the opportunity to improve their health and wellbeing through the therapeutic power of horses.  This charitable organisation is run and managed entirely by volunteers, operating from a 16 acre site in Epsom, Surrey. 

A large corner plot of this site was built to offer its riders a sensory experience; physical senses of touch, smell, taste, hearing, and sight. Thus introducing its ‘Sensory Track’. This large space was used & loved, but it needed a huge amount of regular attention to maintain its look & sense of exploration. Over time this area had become overgrown with brambles, weeds & was looking very shabby. It needed some urgent TLC. It required a DIY SOS makeover & complete transformation. Including an ongoing commitment to maintaining the track through every season.

Step in the Sensory Track volunteers. A dedicated team of people who are stripping away the old, up cycling, repairing, building & painting a new, more exciting Sensory Track. The team have been very thrifty & creative by using and fixing some of the items already onsite, by building planters & benches with free pallets given by Domex Appliance Services https://www.domex-uk.co.uk/ and accepting the generous donations of building materials from Wickes Epsom, as part of their Community Program. https://www.wickes.co.uk/store/8309 Also a big thank you to MW Simons Roofing who fixed the shed roof 

Once finished the team will then regularly visit the track to keep it looking fresh, tidy & exciting for the riders. Here is just some of the hard work going on.
