Looking ahead, the orchestra’s next concert includes Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture, from which you’re sure to recognise the haunting love theme. Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini features Cypriot pianist Christos Fountos. Mr. Fountos, born in Nicosia in 1997, began his piano studies at the age of five and made his orchestral debut at 17 with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. This classical feast concludes with Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony, a work of profound emotional depth & musical ingenuity.
