In this hour-long Saturday afternoon concert local organist and all-round musician Peter Lutton is taking the opportunity to show off the very fine organ and grand piano of Epsom’s St Martin’s Church. Sharing his love of a wide range of musical styles he performs organ music ranging from Handel and Bach to Duruflé and piano compositions from Mozart to Joplin.

Join us for an enchanting hour featuring the exceptional talents of cellist Nigel Blomiley and pianist Viv Mclean. The duo performs two profound works from the classical era by two of its greatest composers – Beethoven’s Sonata No.3 in A major Op 69, and Brahms’ Sonata No.1 in E minor Op 38. Both pieces stir the emotional depths, so we guarantee you’ll be spellbound.

They perform an enchanting and diverse selection of music spanning centuries and styles. The elegance of Boccherini contrasts with the heartfelt romantic melodies of Josef Suk and the intricate writing of contemporary composer Peter Aviss counterbalances a selection of delightful folk songs arrangements. It will be a celebration of violin virtuosity in the lovely surrounds of Epsom’s largest historical building.
